1. Vertex-Based Surveying
Avoid trees taller than 15 meters.
- Press “Start Tracking” and begin at one of the **vertices (corners)** of the terrain. Ensure the GPS has a solid “fix” on its position and that the accuracy is the best possible.
- Walk directly to the next vertex, continuing until you’ve visited and recorded all vertices or edges.
- Be sure to return to your starting point to “close” the polygon by stopping tracking.
